CHAMPA MOORE (Slavic, FutureNatural, CoffeePickers, NY Resurrection)
When Andy "Champa" Moore is DJing, love is in the music. When love is in the music, you can feel it.
Unique
in his ability to create a cathartic, big-room experience, or transform
the most comfortable, leisurely lounge into a rocking party, Champa
knows how to bring it, taking listeners on a journey filled with
suspense, seduction and surprises. For more than two decades Champa has
rewarded people with smiles, screams, sweat and release, at parties
large and small.
From humble beginnings as a participant on
truly incredible dance floors, Champa Moore realized how much he wanted
to give from the DJ booth. After fine-tuning his DJ craft, Champa found
residency at Houston’s most infamous after-hours location, Club Some.
As his talent and fan base grew, his list of residencies grew to
include New Orleans’ Ampersand, New York City's Deck and some of
Houston’s strongest EDM institutions, such as Hyperia, Rent, Clark’s,
Barcode, The Social and more. Champa has performed regularly at Spundae
and represented Houston at WMC’s Ultra Music Festival. He has kept
people dancing until dawn in Spain, the Netherlands and around the
United States.
Over the years, Champa has opened and closed
for internationally renowned DJs such as Josh Wink, Turntables on
the Hudson, Lee Burridge, James Zabiela, Deep Dish, Donald Glaude,
Roger Sanchez, Jay-J, Paul van Dyk, Andy Caldwell, Oakenfold, Tiesto,
Keoki, Randall Jones, Chris Fortier, Eman, Behrouz, Saeed & Palash,
Richard "Humpty" Vission, Sandra Collins, DJ Dan, Andrei Morant, Eddie
Spettro and Chris Anderson. In his experience, Champa has blossomed,
taking dance floor throngs at massive events, dark intimate basements,
insane loft parties, and posh lounges to new, soaring heights.
Are you ready to fly?
As
a resident of New York City, Champa has found a new level of
inspiration and expression in his music. He has and continues to fuel
dance floors around the Metro area, including those of Brooklyn’s
Burning (a spotlight night featuring vocalist Lisa Shaw), Soulgasm, SinSin's
Blue Sky Thursdays, Sapphire Lounge's NY Resurrection, Orchard Bar and
Key Club. He also streams energy online as a frequent contributor to East Village Radio's Analog Soul Show and Vienna-based Play.FM. Archived mixes are also available on LoveIsInTheMusic.com.
Through various outlets, fans around the world can listen as Champa
seamlessly combines disparate elements to weave unique dynamic
tapestries of sound that unite house, techno, electro and breaks.
After
more than 20 years behind the decks, Champa Moore's focus has now
centered on production. His newest remix of Nikolai Stepan's New
High (Love Is In The Music Remix) launched on Slavic in December 2007 and is available via Beatport.
This release adds to his pre-2005 vinyl releases on Tasty Lick.
Additional genre-blurring releases are in the works for 2008.
Combining
his commitment to solid, boundary-pushing production with charisma,
confidence and love behind the decks, you can count on this DJ/Producer
continuing to represent house music, making sure that party people
around the world know one thing: love is in the music.
